Snow Storm Could Hit New Jersey On Wednesday, Thanksgiving Day

The NWS said "plowable snow" could hit North Jersey, while a snow/rain mix could impact the Jersey Shore and South Jersey.

The National Weather Service says a snow storm could hit New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania on Wednesday and on Thanksgiving Day, impacting holiday travel plans.

The Weather Channel reports that up to 3 to 5 inches could fall in the Hackettstown area on Wednesday night, but less than an inch will fall in the New Brunswick area and south.

Mostly rain - with the chance of some snow - could impact the Jersey Shore region north of Tuckerton, according to the National Weather Service.

The weather service issued a statement Saturday saying “plowable snow” and freezing temperatures could hit New Jersey and Pennsylvania, especially the Interstate 95 corridor, on Wednesday and Thursday, according to local police.

The exact impact on New Jersey and Pennsylvania is unknown at this time, but Mid-Atlantic AAA estimates 1.2 million New Jerseyans will travel this holiday week 50 miles or more.

Townsquare Meteorologist Dan Zarrow said there is still a lot of uncertainty with this possible weather pattern. He said he would not give any real substance to the predictions until Monday or Tuesday but, at this point, “I’m willing to admit there is a chance for 3-6 inches of snow accumulation,” he said on the company’s website.
